Chapter 3:  Justice is Not Served

Summary: Unlike other countries whose organizations strongly support beach volleyball, the U.S. federations have done little to promote the sport.

Chapter 4: From 100K Payouts to IOUs

Summary:  The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) tour lives and dies by its players in the 1980s and 1990s.

Chapter 5:  Lifeguard to the Rescue?

Summary:  A savior rejoins the AVP in 2001 to revive a sport gasping for life.

Summary:  Beach volleyball trumps all other sports with its sexual vibe. It's all sun, fun, and buns.

Summary:  The AVP realizes it has no tour without the players, but the vast majority of players don't feel cared for or cared about.

Summary:  Despite being a team sport, there most certainly is an "I" in "Team" on the AVP tour as partnerships quickly form and dissolve.

Summary:  Each athlete must not only be prepared physically, but also ready mentally.

Chapter 12:  Planning Makes Perfect?

Summary:  As the pro players do everything they can to prepare, the AVP too must to plan its tournaments - a major undertaking laden with obstacles.

Chapter 13:  The Show Must Go On

Summary:  Ready or not, each weekend tournament in the six-month long season must proceed as "planned-for" or "not planned-for."
